Slackrr have been setting stages alight across Europe over the last few years with their boundless energy and passionate performances. The trio’s highly danceable pop-punk features infectious hooks and emotional lyrics, invariably leaving audiences exhausted and exhilarated in equal measure. And this isn’t just by chance: since they formed, the 3-piece band from Southampton have clocked up over 700 gigs and established themselves, particularly on the UK punk scene, as a force to be reckoned with when it comes to raw, authentic live shows. Appearances at the Isle of Wight Festival, on BBC Radio One and Kerrang! are just the tip of the iceberg. Tracks like “Playing With Fire” (2022) or “Never Forget” (2024) also showcase Slackrr’s excellent songwriting, which feels leaner and more to the point with each new album and every gig. It’s a development that clearly knows only one direction: forwards. Finally, this year they are celebrating their long-overdue Reeperbahn debut.
