SYNOPSIS: The Norse Women's Saga Series is a 3-episode historical fiction independent series that director and scriptwriter (episodes 1. & 2.) G. Scott MacLeod directed & produced in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada on the ACIC-FAP Filmmakers Assistance Program. The 3 act animated-live action film series & is rooted in MacLeod’s Hiberno-Norse ancestry from the Norse sagas. The series is told from a woman’s perspective & explores Norse women via the sagas, history, archaeology & migration patterns of the Vikings, in order to better understand their lived experiences & history. Studying & sharing their stories is an opportunity to increase awareness of the damaging impacts of war, exile, slavery, religious persecution, famine & the environment, as well as the contributions these women made to the greater world narrative of women as providers & leaders in society.
