Some decisions af bigger consequences than others. Some say that time heals all wounds but sometimes, not all sides are the same. And what am I then to think about it? “Óskar” is a documentary piece about family connections, sorrow, happiness and life. Kolbrún Óskarsdóttir is a musician and a third year student studying Theatre- and Performance making at Iceland’s University of The Arts. This is Kolbrún’s second public performance at the school, she put up a horror-themed piece this spring. Now she heads in another direction. During the last weeks Kolbrún has researched the family, the family tree, the home grounds and the event at the beach in Skagafjörður 1904.

In the course The Maker, students continue to develop their own artistic vision and authorship. Students choose one of three ways, directing, writing or co-creating, to work with under the guidance of experts. Emphasis is placed on students defining their own methods, processes, aesthetics, approaches and positioning themselves in the context of the performing arts scene, both domestically and abroad.
Instructors: Karl Ágúst Þorbergsson & Rósa Ómarsdóttir
