Memories are curated, I remember fragments of fragments and I fill in the gaps. The pink crocs lay on the floor. I remember how I felt when I saw them but I don't know if that's how I truly felt. But if I try and I try maybe I'll remember it in another way. Better way. I am surrounded by endless memories that change and change. Within them lives a past and a future. I write and I paint and I remember and I remember fragments of fragments of all that once was.

Memory as raw material is emotional and nonlinear. While everything was happening stood the same angel stood on the same shelf on the same wall with the same wallpaper, gathering dust. The everyday is packed with still lives charged of meaning, which Hanna Lára Vilhjálmsdóttir conveys through oil on canvas or in video works.
