María Sól Ingólfsdóttir recently completed a Master's degree in singing from the Hochschule für Musik Saar. She previously graduated with a Bachelor's degree in singing from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2019 and obtained an advanced diploma from the Reykjavík College of Singing in 2016. She has also been a
member of Haus of Shmizzays singing studio in New York for the past few years.
Maria Sól has performed in numerous concerts, opera productions and music festivals in Iceland. She received the Gríma Award for Singer of the Year in 2021 at the Icelandic Performing Arts Awards for her role in the work Ekkert er sorglegra en manneskjan by Adolf Smári Unnarsson and Friðrik Margrétar -Guðmundsson and also the Halldór Hansen Foundation Award for outstanding music students in 2019.
María Sól is an active participant in the cultural life of Saarland in Germany, where she has been based for the past few years. She has sung at multiple music festivals in and around Saarbrücken, as well as at the Saarländische Staatstheater opera house, and was also selected as the representative of the Richard Wagner Society
of Saarland for the Bayreuth Festspiele opera festival in 2024.
Upcoming engagements include a performance of Gurrelieder by A. Schönberg at the Schönberg Center in Vienna this summer, concerts at the Musikfestspiele Saar music festival in Schengen, and the role of Konstanze in W.A. Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail in Bad Orb.
María Sól Ingólfsdóttir captivates with a powerful voice and an enchanting presence. She believes that music is magic.
