The picture of inevitability: the most popular TV show of all time, the one that audiences across the globe have been dying for a reunion for, is finally happening. FREINDS needs no introduction, and the reaction of fans everywhere can be summed up in this one collage of celebrity reactions.
We're sure the announcement is enough in terms of promotion because it's, y'know, the FRIENDS reunion but we're not hating the campaign the Hollywood hype-machine is rolling out, particularly since the iconic theme song gets covered by our favourite modern-jazz live art conglomerate: Postmodern Jukebox and even featuring the original artists themselves, The Rembrandts.
HBO, the network in which the hit show aired on is launching its own streaming service HBO Max which will host a one-off TV special with the reunion. It's an unscripted special, launching 16 years after the final episode of the 10 season run they had aired.
It may not come as a shock to internet-citizens everywhere on account of the rumors that have been circulating for months, and then when not only did Aniston break Instagram when she finally joined it only a few months ago, but her first photo was of the full squad with the caption that we can be "Instagram FRIENDS too".
Since the show's run on Netflix (hopefully, it will stay there even if HBO is launching its own streaming service!) the series has been able to reach modern audiences who were not even born till after the show's entire run!

As politics get ever more divided, we've got crazy weather and a global endemic we're trying to keep contained, who wouldn't love to welcome Rachel, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, Monica and Ross back into their living rooms.
