Taylor Swift's highly anticipated Lover tour goes on sale this week. But the format of this tour is not quite what we're used to from an artist of her stature.

Last year she was one of the highest grossing tours in the US following the reputation Stadium Tour which shattered records all around. Typical capacity for her shows was over 20.000, and often she did shows back to back in the same city. The mood of reputation also lent itself well to the 'stadium-rock' production, which can be seen in full on Netflix.

The Lover album however is a lot more intimate, romantic, personal. A big stadium tour doesn't seem to match that vibe, and Swift herself agrees. When her live dates were announced she said this album felt like summer with open fields and sunsets so the dozen dates she's performing in 2020 will all take place at a festival.

However there weren't appropriate festivals for her purposes happening in the USA, so she "made some" – or specifically two. Love Fest East and Love Fest West, each with two dates. Each 'fest' will be performed twice, which means there will only be four Lover dates in all of the United States.

And if you're a verified fan, you will have a chance to score tickets this week to Taylor Swift's Love Fesst. Ir you're in Europe, you have few more options for dates.

Also unsusal, to celebrate the album coming out she held a free-for-fans 'album release party' called City of Lover Concert at Paris' 2000 capacity L'Olympia theatre to much critical acclaim.

Here's the setlist she played in full in Paris, included as a Spotify playlist.
