Have You Heard of Greta Van Fleet Yet?

It's a rock band from Michigan consisting of twins, their younger brother, and a friend – and there's no denying, the howls of frontman Josh sound an awful lot like Led Zeppelin's own Plant.

They are influenced by good old-fashioned rock'n'roll "reclaiming the sounds of the Seventies" as magazine put it. And while it certainly has a heavy resemblance to the hard-rock days of yore – there's still something so fresh about their 2017 debut "From The Fires".

It's Not Like They Are the Only Ones

Greta van Fleet is the latest band to be compared to Zeppelin – but they are not the only ones, and Zeppelin themselves have their own influences.

No one makes music in isolation, everyone's influence comes from somewhere. What's interesting about Geeta Van Fleet is they almost seem more inspired by the bands that inspired Zeppelin, than Zeppelin themselves and frontman Josh's vocals, the story goes, come from him trying to be heard over the loudness of the rest of the band.

The story goes that his Plant-ian shriek simply came out in practice one day as he struggled to be heard over the band.
“We stopped,” recalls Jake, “and were like, ‘Whatever you just did, keep doing that, ’cause it sounds badass.’ ”

Since Greta Van Fleet is only a couple of EPs in, we put together a playlist of songs that sound Zeppelin.

Frankly, it's about time

Which, to be totally honest, this is kinda awesome. Zeppelin haven't released new music in 30 years, so what a time to bring back a fresh version of the 70s hard-rock back to the charts. In the words of YouTube commenter Steven:

Yes this sound similar to Led Zeppelin, and Zeppelin hasn't put any new material out in 30+ years.

Thanks Greta Van Fleet for putting out NEW Zeppelin sounding music! We've missed it terribly.

We're totally with you there Steven.

The Debut Album Comes Next Month

This week Greta Van Fleet has just shared a new song, “Lover, Leaver.” which will be featured on the band’s highly anticipated album Anthem Of The Peaceful Army which comes out in October.

They Put on a Crackin' Live Performance

And word has it, they put on a cracking live performance as well – and their so far sold out N-America and UK tours certainly speaks to what a heck of a live band they on top of their streak of rock-chart domination

Don't just take our word for it, Sir Elton John certainly agrees when he invited the perform at his annual Aids Foundation Oscar Party and even jammed with them on stage!

...yup, you've gotta know where your towel is!

and phone charger as well actually, they add,
chargers + towels are where it's at in this biz
