It's Rihanna's birthday today!

So why not let her sing us a song on the special occasion – with one of our all time favourite performance of hers, Love On the Brain at the Live at Global Citizen Festival 2016 at New York's Central Park.

ok ok. We couldn't stop – you get Diamonds as well.

For those who aren't aware of the work of Global Citizen, the organisation, it's a global movement advocating with massive campaigns for various social justices, such as ending extreme poverty, improving education and health, as well as protecting the environment.

Its causes are universal, and they've managed to attract many many celebrity ambassadors who amongst other things perform at their concerts and festivals around the world. This includes our birthday-queen and famously a humanitarian and philanthropist already, Rihanna.

Not that she needs any introduction, but Rihanna is one of eight acts to have sold more than 250 million records in her career (the others being, somewhat predictably The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Madonna, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd). That's more than any other person you can think of, like Taylor Swift or Eminem or Queen or Whitney Houston.

She's the queen of the singles, but she has earned over 32 RIAA-certified platinum singles in her career (ref), including 14 number ones and is the only artist to surpass RIAA's 100 million cumulative singles award threshold.

If you need a reminder of some of Rihanna's most memorable singles... you've come to the right place.

you get it. Rihanna is good at songs (we didn't even include all her hits). So good in fact that there is a growing collection of hit songs that Rihanna famously rejected to take on – rihjects they're calling 'em.

With nine Grammys to her name, she also leads female artist streaming charts on Spotify and Apple Music, somewhat remarkably since she hasn't released new solo-projects since her album ANTI came out in 2016. Many are aching for her to release more music – and at least according to the rumours, their wishes might well be granted in 2019; maybe even twice over.

In any case, Happy Birthday to a living icon!
