We got dancing, we got singing, we got hits, we got J-Lo's daughter on stage, we got a political message, we got educated on culture: Shakira and Jennifer Lopez delivered at the Super Bowl.
Shakira really slayed the stage 🔥🔥🔥 #HalftimeShowpic.twitter.com/4XmEmL4f92

The two artists did certainly not forget their Latin roots, as there were a lot of references to Columbian culture, the Puerto Rico flag was showcased on stage, but they also included a sample from Born in the USA during the performance.
Btw this dance is called Champeta and it is originated in Shakira’s hometown of Branquilla Colombia! It’s respected for its footwork and it’s an important part of Colombian culture 💃🏼 pic.twitter.com/JtcLsl9sm9

I didn't initially catch all the subtle messages expressed during the amazing J Lo & Shakira halftime show celebrating immigrant/Latin culture. Shakira's traditional Arab ululation, kids in cages, Puerto Rican flag during "Born in the USA" bit, and so much more. pic.twitter.com/v5YHtcr06i

They also invited fellow Latin artists J Balvin and Bad Bunny to join them on stage, but their rise has been astronomical over the past couple of years in the charts, and they're especially popular on YouTube.
Then there was the moment Jennifer Lopez's daughter, Emme, started singing her mother's hit of Let's Get Loud – from a cage. Talk about a statement.

As her daughter emerges to sing 'Born in the USA', she appears draped in the Puerto Rican & American flag.

All of the politics aside, it was simply an excellent, energetic set. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez have an astonishing number of hits between them and so every song was instantly recognisable and got the whole crowd moving. Definitely one of the more memorable Super Bowl Half Time shows in recent years.

Unfortunately, neither artist seems to be on tour at this moment in time. Jennifer Lopez completed a Vegas residency in 2018 but no dates have been announced for 2020 or 2021.
J Balvin and Bad Bunny both completed big tours in 2019. If you want to find out what else is on near you, here some Latin artists we could find who are going on sale in the next couple of weeks >>
