As things get complicated with copyright laws and more boring legal stuff, Kirby Ferguson explores in this film – that even the most iconic creations are derivative work.
He goes through music, how hip-hop sampled from 70s hippie music, how metal melodies are inspired (erhm, or are note-for-note) by blues artists and more. He goes on to film, that they are often structured in ways that has already been done and mastered, and the story is often an adaptation of a film that has already been made.
